File 006 · Terms of Service
Terms a human can actually read.
The deal, in writing: what we provide, what you agree to, and the one clause that genuinely matters more here than anywhere else — the one about your keys.
Last updated: October 2026 · Effective for the beta · Written by humans, checked against the code.
§ 01 · The Agreement
Who's agreeing to what.
These terms are a contract between you and Adamanture Private Limited (CIN U62090TN2026PTC196554, incorporated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India) covering the Unlike Mail apps and services. Using the service means you accept them. If you're accepting for a company, you're promising you're allowed to.
§ 02 · The Service
What Unlike Mail is — and its beta status.
Unlike Mail is an end-to-end encrypted email client that works on top of the mailbox you already have — Google, Microsoft, or Zoho by direct sign-in. Your mail stays at your provider; we add sealing, and we cannot read the messages you seal — the full design is public on the blueprint.
The apps are Windows and Android. The web version is being retired.
Beta means beta: some features may misbehave, and the interface might occasionally surprise you. The cryptography is not one of those features — the primitives are standardized and the design is published. We fix things fast; report anything weird to contact@adamanture.com.
§ 03 · Accounts
Eligibility and honesty.
You need to be at least 18 and the legitimate owner of the mailbox you connect. Keep your enrolled devices and passphrase safe — see the next section for why that matters more here than anywhere else. One person per account.
§ 04 · The Clause That Matters
Your keys, your responsibility.
Read this one twice
Unlike Mail is built so that we cannot read your sealed messages — ever, for anyone, including you. There is no master key, no recovery desk, no backdoor. If you lose every enrolled device and your passphrase, your sealed history is permanently unreadable, and no amount of support tickets, court orders, or crying (ours included) can change the math.
By using the service you accept this trade: absolute privacy, absolute responsibility. Keep a second device enrolled or remember your passphrase. We will remind you; we cannot rescue you.
§ 05 · Acceptable Use
Don't be the reason for new rules.
Don't use Unlike Mail to break the law, send spam or malware, harass people, probe or overload our or your provider's systems, or resell the service without an agreement. Encryption protects your privacy; it doesn't suspend the law or your provider's own terms. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or other people — with notice where the situation allows it.
§ 06 · Fees, Trial & Payments
The money terms.
- Free month: your first 30 days are free from sign-up, with no card. Paying during it doesn't shorten it: paid time starts when the free month ends. Nothing is charged unless you choose to pay.
- Price: US$1.50 to 2.00 a month, depending on where you buy, monthly or yearly. Nothing is added when you buy from us. App stores apply local tax their own way, and in some countries add it at checkout. One price covers up to 10 mailboxes.
- Currency: in India you pay in rupees: we convert the US-dollar price at the day's exchange rate and show you the rupee amount before you pay. In the other countries where you can buy from us, you pay in US dollars by international card. In Google Play you pay in the currency Google Play shows you.
- Where: buying from us is available in India, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Hong Kong; Google Play's own country list applies to the Android app. Elsewhere buying from us is not available yet; the free month and reading your mail still work.
- Auto-renew (optional): you pay for the first month or year when you turn it on; it starts when your free month or paid time ends, then renews every month or year until you turn it off in Settings → Subscription in the Windows app (or in the web version, while it lasts). It keeps the rupee amount it started at. Access lasts to the end of the period you have paid for.
- One-time payment: buys 30 or 365 days of access and never renews.
- When access ends: your account becomes read-only. Reading and decrypting your mail keep working; sending is paused until you renew.
- Android app: the subscription is bought and renewed through Google Play, at the price Google Play shows for your country, within the range above. The app shows the price before you confirm. You manage and cancel it in Google Play; access lasts to the end of the period you have paid for. See Pricing.
- Payments in the Windows app (and the web version, while it lasts) are processed by Razorpay, and in the Android app by Google Play. The merchant is Adamanture Private Limited.
- Price changes: prices may change, never mid-term, and never without at least 30 days' notice before a renewal at a new price.
- Refunds: an auto-renew payment, including the first one when you turn it on, is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days of the payment, once per account; the refund turns auto-renew off and ends that period's access immediately, and further requests are decided case by case. A one-time payment is not refunded for a change of mind. Duplicate or wrong charges are always refunded. If we fail to provide the service, we refund in full or pro rata, at our discretion. Refunds go back to the original payment method, in the original currency, in 5–7 working days. A payment made through Google Play is refunded through Google Play instead (48 hours there, then contact us), and the unused time it bought is taken back.
- Cancellation: turning off auto-renew stops future charges and keeps your access to the end of the period. Deleting your account cancels auto-renew and does not refund the time left. The full Cancellation and Refund Policy is part of these terms; see also Pricing.
§ 07 · Third-Party Services
Your provider's rules still apply.
Unlike Mail connects to Google / Google Workspace, Microsoft / Office 365, and Zoho Mail under the OAuth consent you grant, which you can revoke at your provider at any time. Your use of those mailboxes remains governed by their terms.
Our use of data received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements: mailbox data is used only to provide the features you see, never for advertising, and never transferred except as needed to run the service.
§ 08 · Ownership
Yours stays yours. Ours stays ours.
Your mail and everything you create is yours — we claim no license beyond the processing required to run the service you asked for. The Unlike Mail software, brand, and design are ours. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product; that's the whole point of sending it.
§ 09 · The Legal Armor
Disclaimers, liability, termination.
Disclaimers: the beta is provided "as is". We don't warrant uninterrupted service, and we can't warrant your provider's uptime at all. We do stand behind the published security design — including its stated limits.
Liability: to the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including sealed data made unreachable by lost keys (§ 04: that one is physics, not negligence).
Termination: you can leave any time: turn off auto-renew (§ 06) or delete your account. We may terminate for material breach of these terms, with notice where practical. On termination, deletion runs per the privacy policy.
§ 10 · Housekeeping
Law, changes, contact.
- Governing law: the laws of India, with disputes in the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu — after we've genuinely tried to fix it over email first.
- Changes: material changes are announced by email before they take effect. Continued use means acceptance; if you disagree, turn off auto-renew or delete your account.
- Contact: contact@adamanture.com — a human reads it.
