File 007 · Open Questions

Questions you actually have.

Straight answers, including the ones marketing departments usually soften. If yours isn't here, email a human: contact@adamanture.com.

§ 01 · Basics

The address, the mailbox, the apps, the name.

No — that is the whole shape of the product. Unlike Mail works with the address you already use through Google, Microsoft, or Zoho. Your contacts do not change, your signature stays, and your archive stays. We add a vault inside the house you already live in; we do not ask you to move.

Google, Microsoft, and Zoho sign in with one click on Windows and Android. There are no server settings to manage.

Windows and Android. The Android app is in Google Play internal testing and cannot be installed publicly yet, and the Windows download is not available yet. Apple comes later, with no date.

One price covers up to 10 mailboxes — Google, Microsoft, or Zoho addresses you already own.

Yes. Unlike Mail adds a layer — it does not replace your existing workflow. Sealing only kicks in between Unlike Mail users; everything else is exactly the email you know.

You can invite them. They get 30 days free, no card, no catch — and from the moment they join, every message between you seals itself automatically.

If they do not join, your email goes through as normal email. Nothing bounces, nothing breaks, and nobody has to know you tried to upgrade them.

Because every other service is basically the same thing with a different coat of paint — same protocols, same server-side reading, same “trust us.” We looked at the whole category and built something actually unlike it: seals on your device, keys we do not store, and an address you keep.

§ 02 · Security

The claims, and their fine print.

Not the sealed mail. Messages between Unlike Mail users are encrypted on your device before your provider ever touches them — what they store and relay is mathematical noise.

Mail you exchange with people not on Unlike Mail is ordinary email, and your provider sees it like any other. Sealing needs both ends.

Not sealed mail: it is encrypted on your device before anyone else sees it, and the keys that open it exist only on your devices. Our servers store wrapped keys and ciphertext, so a copy of our database is useless without your keys.

Yes. Sealing uses ML-KEM-1024 — the NIST-standardized, lattice-based key-encapsulation mechanism (FIPS 203) — hybridized with AES-256-GCM.

At rest, the server holds no key to what it stores. Your passphrase and key-encryption key never leave your device, and every key we persist is wrapped under keys we do not have. While you are signed in, the server holds your working key in memory (see below).

Mail with people who are not on Unlike Mail is ordinary email at your provider.

Our server also takes part in signing in. The apps send it a short-lived access token to confirm a mailbox is yours, which it checks and does not keep, and a Zoho sign-in and its refreshes pass through it without being kept. While you are signed in, it holds your working key in memory. Until the web version is retired, it also keeps the sign-in of mailboxes used there, encrypted under a key only your passphrase unlocks. A live compromise of the running server could reach the mailboxes of people signed in at that moment, never the stored data. Its push service also sees the mailbox address in a Gmail notification.

§ 03 · Devices & Keys

Losing things, trusting things.

Your wrapped keys live server-side as ciphertext, so any other enrolled device — or your passphrase — brings everything back. Revoke the lost device’s passkey and carry on.

Enter your passphrase once and the new device derives the same key, registers its own passkey, and never asks again.

Or approve the new device with an authorization QR code from a device you already trust.

Your sealed history is gone, and we cannot bring it back — there is no master key, recovery desk, or backdoor. You reconnect your mailbox and start fresh.

§ 04 · Billing & Practical

The money part, minus the maze.

No catch. We run lean, we cannot mine data we cannot read, and we do not buy Super Bowl ads. After the 30-day free trial, US$1.50 to 2.00 a month, depending on where you buy, covers servers, team, and coffee.

30 days free from sign-up, no card, no phone number. After that, choose a monthly or a yearly plan; the pricing page has the details. Without a plan your account becomes read-only: reading and decrypting your mail keep working, and sending is paused until you renew.

A yearly plan costs less than twelve monthly payments. Same features, same support, just cheaper because you committed. See the pricing page for the amounts.

Nothing is added when you buy from us. App stores apply local tax their own way, and in some countries add it at checkout.

Prices are in US dollars. In India you pay in rupees at the day’s exchange rate, shown before you pay, and an auto-renew keeps the rupee amount it started at. In the other countries where paid plans are available, you pay in US dollars by international card.

Paid plans are available in India, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Hong Kong. Elsewhere they are not available yet; the free month and reading your mail still work.

In the Android app, the subscription is bought and renewed through Google Play, which shows your local price before you confirm.

Auto-renew is optional, and you turn it off in one click in Settings → Subscription in the Windows app. You keep access to the end of the period you paid for. A one-time payment never renews, so there is nothing to cancel. In the Android app you cancel in Google Play, which the app links to. No retention team, no exit interview.

An auto-renew payment, including the first one when you turn it on, is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days of the payment, once per account. Ask in the app (Settings → Subscription) or by email; the refund turns auto-renew off and ends that period’s access immediately. Further refund requests go to support and are decided case by case. Duplicate or wrong charges are always refunded. One-time payments are not refunded for a change of mind. Refunds go back to the original payment method, in the original currency, in 5–7 working days. A subscription bought in the Android app is refunded through Google Play instead: you can ask Google Play yourself within 48 hours, then contact us at support@adamanture.com. The full policy is on the Cancellation and Refund page.

Every person has their own account and plan; there are no team accounts or shared billing. If your company needs more — a large rollout, SSO, on-premise — email contact@adamanture.com.
